An introduction to the basics of burlesque striptease. This workshop delves into the history of burlesque, the style, and the performance elements of this art form that have helped revive it into one of the most unique and empowering feminine performing arts of our time.
9:00 to 10:00 - TEASE TECHNIQUES
Continuing exploration of burlesque performance styles (advanced)

Continuing exploration of burlesque performance styles and skills. (Advanced)
Continue your burlesque education with more in-depth work on posture, style, sensual movement and peeling. Emphasis on performance-quality stage presence and specific burlesque dance steps as well as the nuances of character development and story building.

Intro to burlesque fan dancing (Tease Basics recommended as a preliminary course)

Learn why Sally Rand drove the country into a frenzy at the 1934 Worlds' Fair and why contemporary artists like Dita Von Teese, Dirty Martini and Michelle L'Amour continue to mezmerize their audiences with this unique art form today. There will be some various size and style fans available at the class to help give students an exciting and diverse hands-on experience. Students should bring burlesque or chinese dance fans if they own them.
